Covid-19 posters

I walked around town yesterday and noticed many small businesses putting up signs in Regards to entry restrictions to their stores. The signs were yellow and bright red with stop symbols, big red and black text. Starting off with words such as

“DO NOT ENTER”

I read them as “yelling” at me not to enter.

During this economic pinch you don’t want to deter people from entering your business and make them feel like a leper at the same time.

Talk to your customers through your signage in a way that suggests “

”we are open but are also being responsible by putting some precautions in place”

Say things like:

Come in, you’re more than welcome.

As a precautionary measure we encourage touchless card payments.

We are sanitizing our serving and common areas regularly throughout the day.

We appreciate everyone abiding by the 1.5m distance rule. Use blue instead of red as it is the colour of hygiene. It also is a calming colour. End by saying “Thank you for supporting local business“ We all have a civil duty to uphold during the corona virus outbreak and your customers will appreciate your kind and respectful communication.
